The roomiest of all the hotels in Samarkand is hotel "Afrosiab" which though still young has gained a great reputation in the travel industry. The hotel has 278 rooms including single, double, de-luxe and apartments. The rooms are all equipped with a/c, television, mini-bar, direct dial telephone. Every room has a balcony. Also, there are a/c restaurants, banquet halls with Uzbek and international cuisine; snack-bar, lobby bar, express bar, night bar with show program, bar museum with archeological excavations. During the construction of the hotel, the builders unexpectedly discovered the remains of Kok-Saray ( the Palace of Tamerlane, the Great) and managed to preserve them.
