Lower Dolpo Trek

Make a rendezvous with the remote Himalaya Mountains of Dolpo, the land of the Oscar nominated Caravan fame, Thinley, a culture nearby Tibet that has survived its originality for centuries. Thanks to the reportage of National Geographic Fame Eric Valli, the Dolpo region of Nepal has been shown in all its integrity and full mystical experience. Along with one of the deepest Himalayan Lakes, the Phokhsundo with beautiful turquoise blue water, watch the yak caravans that maintain the traditional salt trade with Tibet. The region lies further north from the Dhaulagiri Range in the rain shadow of the Himalayas – reflected in the colorful barren slopes of the mountains where the play of light and shadow is a perpetual fascinating spectacle. In summer, the caravans of yaks and sheep run through this valley on a trade route through the Himalayas and allows the exchange not only goods but also of ideas between the Tibetan Plateau and the valleys of Nepal.

The Lower Dolpo Trek is meant for real adventurers wishing for an off-the-beaten-path experience. This remote region in western Nepal was opened for the foreigners only in 1990. The trek passes through Shey-Phoksundo National Park with spectacular mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries and yak caravans. Our trek takes us through a wooded area, then load through rugged canyons in the barren plateau near the border with Tibet. After your arrival in Kathmandu, make a historical and cultural tour of Kathmandu valley and monuments while we obtain special permit for the lower Dopla trekking. Then we take our flight to Jhupal via Nepalgunj. Experience the high altitude tundra and rocks and the microclimate of Lower Dolpo and Phoksumdo with the cold air of the glaciers of Kanjiroba.

Other trek Information

Stay Safe

Altitude Sickness: The main and common risk while trekking above about 2500m is Altitude sickness. Altitude sickness is caused by acute exposure to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. The available amount of oxygen to sustain mental and physical alertness decreases with altitude. Available oxygen drops as the air density itself, the number of molecules (of both oxygen and nitrogen) per given volume, drops as altitude increases. So don’t ignore, if you have any symptoms then descending to a lower altitude is the only option.

Water: Have some means to purify water, iodine or a fine ceramic filter are the best options. The streams should be considered polluted and whilst bottled water is often available, the disposal of plastic bottles is a problem.

Electricity in Nepal
Nepal is a developing country, Outside of major cities area electricity on trekking can be scares. You should have to pay 100-800 NRs per hour to charge goods on many lodges and also many tea-house treks, including in Annapurna base camp trek, Everest Base camp trek and many others treks also. Chargers often won’t work on low power solar systems you find right up in the mountains so u can buy alternative bayonet light to electricity power plug converter, which will only works in low voltage is highlow. The standard Nepalese electrical outlet is a three-pronged triangle so bring three-pronged triangle chargers.

Nepal Climate information

Nepal is a landlocked country which lies in Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Nepal has monsoonal climate having four main seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn and winter.

Below is a general guide to conditions at different seasons:
January to March (winter): In this season temperature will decrease at often 0°C (32°F) at night, with extreme cold at high elevations. It is possible to trek in places like the Everest region during the winter but due to extreme cold weather and heavy snow fall it may be quite difficult than as usual.
April to June (summer): In these months it is quite warm and dry weather. There is an abundance of blooming flowers in the Himalayas at this time, with rhododendrons, in particular, adding a splash of color to the landscape. This season is the best time to undertake mountain expeditions.
June to September (Monsoon): There will be heavy monsoonal rainfall in this season. Rains are generally lighter in high Himalayan reasons. In this season the mountain ranges are not often visible due to the clouds.
October to December (autumn): These months are cool and clear which is due to the end of monsoon, there is little dust in the air so this is the best season to visit the hilly and mountainous regions.

Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

Permanent Link >>>

Overview

With the literal meaning of “five great treasures of snow”, Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the entire globe with the altitude of 8585m. Situated in the eastern Nepal, Kanchanjunga actually has seven major peaks. This extremely furious and unpredictable mountain peak is known for the avalanches it throws down which are said to be largest.

Eastern portion of Nepal is typically authenticated by a wide diversity of various ethnic group including Rai and Limbu residing, extensive range of flora and fauna because of its higher summer rainfall, rare remoteness and the invincibly astonishing mountain panorama.

The trip starts with a short airstrip from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. From Biratnagar we will drive to Basantapur and commence the trek to Chauki. Following the glacial torrent of Tamur and Ghunsa River we will trek towards the Kanchanjunga Himal.  The peak dwarfs the entire alpine grandeur dominating the whole area. We will return back following the vivid southern traverse of the mountain to Mirgin La pass (4500m). This tricky traverse of the region is rarely visited in the recent years due to its uber -hypocritical character. Apart from all these, the adventure seekers from all over the globe come here to feel the extreme side of nature.

Spring Trekking in Uzbekisan

Tien-Shan Trekking – Trekking in the Tien Shan Mountains

Day 1. Мар. We start from the Railroad station in Tashkent at around 8 o’clock in the morning. In about two hours we arrive by train to the Hojikent station. It is a first point of the trek, which is located at a height of 880 m. We walk to the place of our first camp in Bulaksu Gorge, about two hours. Camping, rest and acclimatization. Optionally rock climbing, hiking in the nearby mountains.
L, D.

Day 2. Today We start climbing southward following the Bulaksu River back to its sources. Halfway rest, lunch under the shady trees near to one of the Bulaksy River’s sources. After lunch we continue climbing toward the Bulaksu Pass 1900 m (+1020 m). You get a splendid view of the Chimgan area from the Bulaksu Pass. There is water welling up from the earth near to this pass. This is a place of the second camp. B, L, D.

Day 3. Today we make our way towards the Greater Chimgan Mountain. We pass Akshurang then climb to the Mingtukum Mountain (1960 m), walk down the ridge to the Archaly Pass (1595 m) and then hike a bit eastward to Kiziljar. This is a place of our camp 3. Towards evening we climb to the Kiziljar Mountain (1900 m) in order to take pictures of the Greater Chimgan Mountain from arguably the most optimal earth-based view point. B, L, D.

Day 4. Our target for this day is the Beldersay river, which springs from highland between West Ridge and Southwest Ridge of the Greater Chimgan Mountain. During first half of this day we climb to West Ridge (Northwestern Spur), pass the Tahtajaylau Saddle (2190 m) and then descend to the Marble Rivulet. Halfway rest, lunch, excursion downstream of the rivulet. After rest we climb to Western Spur of West Ridge towards the Urta-Kumbel Pass (1850 m). From the pass we descend to the Beldersay River, where we set up our forth camp. B, L, D.

Day 5. Today we go via the Chet-Kumbel Pass (1880 m) to the place the last point of our threk – the Beldersay tourist center. In the evenings return back to Tashkent. B, L.

Annapurna Royal Trek

Kathmandu Sightseeing, Pokhara City tour, trekking in the easy trail, magnificient views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range , Fistail and other many Great mountain view of Nepal.

Royal Trek in Annapurna is a one of the most stunning trekking route of the Annapurna Region Trekking Package. Royal Trek in Annapurna allows trekkers for Kathmandu sightseeing, tour in the Pokhara city, stunning views of mountains of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range, a great view of Mt. Machapuchchre and many other beautiful Himalayas of Nepal.

This trek trail takes you through remote villages of the region. The artistically built houses and the ever-smiling local people of this region are just superb to get through. However, tea-houses may be in a rare number that makes you build camps for night-stay.

As mentioned earlier, this trek is listed under the type “Camping”. Positively, it’s more fun to build camps for night-stay rather than staying at hotels, especially while you are on a trek. From an altitude of 820m you get to the top of the trek at 1800m. This trekking route is categorized as an easy one. You also do not need to worry about altitude sickness. Anyone who is in a good health can go for this trek. The best season to start this trek is between September and November, and February and May. However, if you want, the trek can be arranged at any month of the year.

This trekking route has been famous since Prince Charles of Britain followed this path. It was named “ Royal Trek” since then.

This trek is an excellent addition to visiting the historical cities of
Uzbekistan. The mountains of Uzbekistan are beautiful, but still inferior to the beauty of the Fann Mountains. Over the five days that you may spend in Tajikistan you will see much more beauty of nature than at the same time in any of the accessible mountainous regions of Uzbekistan. At the same time, none of the cities of Tajikistan is comparable to the world-famous historical centers of Samarkand and Bukhara. If you want to see everything at once, please contact us.
