A high-level ski and snowboard expedition blending technical freeride and ski touring in the Western Tien Shan with the cultural depth of the legendary Silk Road. This journey is designed for confident skiers and snowboarders seeking untracked snow, expansive backcountry terrain, and a refined cultural experience beyond the mountains.

  • Ski touring ascents up to 900 m

Amirsoy Ski Resort

  • Modern resort spanning 900+ hectares
  • 11 pistes, 5 lifts (gondola, chairlifts, conveyor)
  • Freeride zones up to 1 km wide and 5 km long
  • Smooth alpine terrain (up to 30°), no deep canyons
  • Reliable snowfall, alpine meadows, juniper and deciduous forests

🏔️ Signature Freeride Objectives

  • Kiziljar Peak (1,866 m) – striking Red Cliff formations and broad, aesthetic lines
  • Small Chimgan Peak (2,100 m) – long descents with panoramic views toward Charvak Lake
  • Flexible route selection with the option to repeat the best lines depending on snow and weather conditions

After the intensity of the mountains, enjoy a smooth cultural transition:

  • Bukhara – ancient madrasahs, palaces, bazaars, and a living medieval atmosphere
  • Samarkand – Registan Square, Gur-Emir Mausoleum, and monumental Timurid architecture


Day-by-Day Program

Day 01 – Arrival / Chimgan

Arrival in Tashkent. Meet & greet at the airport and transfer to Chimgan. Hotel check-in. If time allows, a warm-up session in the Chimgan ski area:

  • Chairlift length: 800 m
  • Vertical drop: 385 m
  • Red-level piste up to 900 m

Overnight in Chimgan.


Day 02 – Chimgan Ski Touring

Acclimatization day with ski touring on the Western Ridge of Chimgan.

  • Start elevation: 2,350 m
  • Vertical descent: 600 m
  • Option to repeat the route twice

Return to hotel by vehicle.

Overnight in Chimgan.


Day 03 – Amirsoy Freeride

Transfer to Amirsoy Ski Resort.

  • Highest point: 2,275 m
  • Lowest point: 1,630 m
  • Wide off-piste terrain with smooth relief

Freeride descents from Maigashkan Mountain.

Overnight in Amirsoy or Chimgan.


Day 04 – Kiziljar Peak

Ski touring ascent to Kiziljar Peak (1,866 m). Freeride descent toward Chimgan:

  • Iconic Red Cliff landslide formations
  • Open slopes scattered with juniper trees
  • New cable car currently under construction

Overnight in hotel.


Day 05 – Small Chimgan Peak

Ascent to Small Chimgan Peak (2,100 m). Descent toward Charvak Lake. Alternative: repeat the best freeride line based on current snow conditions.

Overnight in hotel.


Day 06 – Best Line Repeat / Night Train

Final ski day – repeat the most exciting descent of the trip. Transfer to Tashkent railway station. Overnight train to Bukhara (coupe class).


Day 07 – Bukhara

07:00 – Arrival at Kagan station, transfer to Bukhara. Breakfast at hotel. 09:00 – Guided city tour of Bukhara. 19:00 – Transfer to railway station. 20:50 – Evening train to Samarkand.


Day 08 – Samarkand / Departure

01:40 – Arrival in Samarkand, transfer to hotel. 10:00 – Guided city tour of Samarkand. 17:30 – Transfer to railway station. 18:00 – High-speed Afrosiyob train to Tashkent. 20:00 – Arrival in Tashkent, transfer to airport.

End of program.
